Eckhard Beger was born in Geneva in 1962. After studying mechanical engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and obtaining an MBA at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, he worked in the high-end watchmaking and medical technology sectors.
At the same time, he cultivated his passion for music, photography, architecture and design. He developed a particular interest in the pure style of modernism and postmodern architecture.
His fascination with the harmony of forms led him to design art furniture, a field to which he decided to devote himself exclusively since 2010. Self-taught, he explores the aesthetic influence of lines, curves as well as organic shapes on the three-dimensional bodies of his creations. Furthermore, he attaches great importance to the quality of materials and the finishes (veneers, marquetry, patinas), which for him, at a microscopic level, reveal a world of their own. The realisations of his creations requires the know-how of craftsmen as well as modern manufacturing technologies (5-axis digital machines)
Eckhard Beger's creations have been exhibited at the Poldi Pezzoli Museum in Milan as part of the "Quasi segretti" exhibition, at "Venice Design" at the Palazzo Michiel in 2016 and 2017 in the context of the architecture and art biennials, at the PAD as well as at Artgenève
