Denis Asch was born on February 9, 1969, and grew up in Alsace. From an early age, his fascination with watches and their mechanisms piqued his curiosity, a passion that has stayed with him throughout his life and eventually became his profession. Denis has lived in Geneva for over 35 years and became a Swiss citizen in 2016. Denis is a dedicated individual who fully immerses himself in the subjects that interest him. His first trips to Africa in 2000 introduced him to wildlife photography, which became a turning point for him. Like deciphering the mechanism of watches, he sought to understand all the parameters that make a good photograph. During his travels in Africa, he chose the unpredictable—the wild animals—as his models. As a self-taught photographer, he honed his technique on various safaris, learning about animal interactions. Becoming a wildlife photographer requires studying and respecting the fauna and flora. Capturing the emotion in their eyes is the guiding principle of his work.
